The Pakistan military airdropped rations, tents and medicine for survivors of a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that has already claimed some 515 lives.

Relief goods including ready-to-eat-meals, tents, blankets, medicines, and dry rations were dropped into the earthquake affected Awaran area of Baluchistan Province.

Insurgent attacks have hampered relief efforts with extremists shooting at helicopters carrying military officials.

Aid being brought in by truck travels along pitted roads that cut through mountains held by the insurgents.
