Alexander Cooley is a Professor of Political Science at Barnard College at Columbia University in the US. He has written extensively on former Soviet States and Central Asia, and on recent dramatic developments in Ukraine and Russia. He gives us his point of view on the huge gas deal that has just been signed between Russia and China and on the ongoing Ukrainian crisis.
