Surprise Me!

Elya Thorn - The Last Nights

We used to listen to the radio,
We used to listen to those sings,
You used to explain things I did not understand:
Words, images, colors…
Maybe that‘s why I love words today,
So much I love them, because
They remind me of you…

I keep them near me,
In a notebook and I feel that you’re near!
Oh, the prayers we used to say,

The laughter and the smile…

Why have they all ceased from your face,
I used to wonder when life was slowly
Removed from your body!

The winds that joined forces when
Your soul started the journey…

The stories my friends told me about a traveling soul…

My childhood,
You were such a big part of it,

And that’s the beauty of memories,
They can give a scent of present tense:
You are such a big part of my childhood!
