In the beginning you had limits life had been a wayward track
Your friends were always winning; you were falling on your back
But you kept it real, would admit you're wrong despite working with the cunning
And with no support you worked so hard - always hit that ground a-running.
You've never held a pretense to show that you must be the best
Never needed to exert yourself for the sake of them and hoping to impress.
You discounted their prerequisites and rules of how to play
You never needed them to get ahead, their rules are silly anyway.
Because:
You're a Salesman - without the lying
And a Magician - without a trick
You're a legend - but not by dying
And you're contagious - but I'm not sick.
You're a star - don't need a costume
And you can see - but you are blind -
Because someone like you
Must have come from the moon
Yeah - YOU - are one of a kind.
Seems to be the losers who think they are the best but if you're asking me I can't help but see that you're a cut above the rest.
Go and take the high road from what this world thinks that you must do because the only one who matters is my Alien - and that is you.
Because: You're a Salesman - without the lying
And a Magician - without a trick
You're a legend - but not by dying
And you're contagious - but I'm not sick.
You're a star - don't need a costume
And you can see - but you are blind -
Because someone like you
Must have come from the moon
Yeah - YOU - are one of a kind.
