Her skin was as ebony and his like gold
My regret was neither of them lived to be old

Like melting ice under the scorching sun
They left so suddenly with their works undone
Like flying bats under the silvery moon
Both were gone, gone too soon
The loved they shared I shall surely miss
I know we'll be together again in a life after this
Now I am left all alone writing this tearful tune
A tune for my friends who are gone, gone too soon
She loved to dance and he to sing
With these two talents much joy they did bring
As I end this poem under the light of the silvery moon
