Brazilian indigenous chief Raoni has made the most of the publicity arising from the World Cup to condemn the ongoing destruction of the Amazon. Kayapo leader Raoni Metuktire has visited France, Belgium, Britain, Monaco and Norway in an awareness-raising tour. More than 80 years old, he is fighting for the protection and official demarcation of indigenous lands in the rainforest.
