St. Bernard Parish empty lot slab removal program 12/16/11.
Federal funds used to remove slabs on properties not sold to the state after Katrina. This is private property owned by a bank (foreclosure) and your tax dollars were used to clean up their mess.
The crews hired to wreck and remove the slabs of houses sold to the state were professional. The companies contracted under this program look like the dregs of the earth. They damaged the fences on BOTH sides of this lot and so far the owners have not been compensated (as of March 2011.)
