Happy New Year!
Is that a statement...
Or a wish?
A tendril of hope
Stretching out between me and whoever?
Or is it a plea
A misted glimmer
Of forlorn hope
That this year will be
Better than last year?
And why happy?
Why not healthy?
Why not Fantastic?
Why not Prosperous?
How little is said
And how shallow the statement!
I wish you all a totally splendiferous and everything you ever wished for
