My name is Alex
I'm nine years old
I'm very hungry
My feet are cold
My daddy's home
He's got no job
We have no power
We just got robbed
My daddy loves me
A little too much
When he's around
He wants to touch
My momma's dead
She gone away
When she was alive
I could face the day
I have to be quiet
I hear the car
My daddy's back
From Charlie's Bar
I have to hide
He's almost here
I want to leave
My daddy I fear
He walks through the door
He calls out my name
I can't make a noise
He calls this a game
God have mercy
Don't let him discover me
I'm praying to you now
I hope he doesn't see
I tiptoe to his room
I get his 22
I point it at his head
I pull the trigger too
He falls to the floor
Blood gushing from his head
I kiss him on his cheek
Then I realize that he's dead
My name is Alex
I'm nine years old
I am still hungry
My feet are cold
