the fact that people are very much aware of the facts, and STILL lie to themselves and rationalize this idea that SOMEHOW things will change or be better if you either tweak an existing system or continue to 'hope' that a democrat will somehow come around to working 'for the people' is just straight up 'stockholm syndrome'.
