Katherine Perry - A Marriage Not Too Late

It is so easy in America to get a divorce
For i have been there and done that a couple
of times
But i don't think there is anything worse
Than the hatefullness that develops in your
mind

For a marriage begins with hope it never ends
And no one goes into a marriage knowing it
wouldn't last
It is meant for everlasting love, a partner,
a friend
And standing by each other in the good times
and bad

Without marriage, what would life mean
No relationships means no bonding and no
family
Stuck in a world full of hearts that couldn't
be seen
Just groups of people mingleing and meddleing

Marriage should be regarded as the holiest
institution among men
For without it there should be no life worth
living
But in today's time, material things are valued
more than women or men
And we spend way too much time wanting more
rather than giving

With all that goes on in a breakup
When is it considered too late to try again
For after two divorces, i wanted to give up
Until i met someone that made me feel like
life just began again

Someone who always makes a long conversation
seem too short
Someone who listens to me and seems to care
The kind of relationship you could never abort
And a friendship thats so close, even when apart
there still there

I know in my heart this marriage is finally right,
my partner is finally right, and my life is finally
right
Who would have thought that true love could arrive
so late
But it did, and for the first time i see the light
For God has given me someone so wonderful that even
time could not take

For the love in this marriage feels like an accom-
plishment of a beautiful dream, and not, as it often
is, the end.
