You are
The blazing flame
That ignites my cloistered insanity
As a man consumed
By infatuation
Walks down a footpath
Paved of fictitious hope
Maddened by subtle bursts of chemicals
Inebriated by an irresistible desire
Fueled by near-sighted obsession
Walking on a tight rope
On a field of erect nine-inch nails
Oh the tragedy
When the guise of love
Swindles
Your magnetized soul
As the promise of a luscious oasis
Metamorphoses
To a duplicitous mirage
With no magical springs of hope
Nor the fruits of love
As the trail of a goddess
Disappears
To leave the fractured heart
On a path of restoration
With the superglue
Of passing time
For true love is an elixir
Yet infatuation is not
An innocuous pill
