Dedicated to:
SFC Deborah Lee Johnsen, MP
(1966 - 2003)
In the quiet cool of morn
Before the rosy glow of dawn
My enchanted gardens grow.
In moonlight, merry larks awake
White flowers line the paths I take
And gentle fountains flow.
For a while I forget my pain
Sweet orange blossoms bloom again
I see you smile and say hello.
Lilies nod—I hear your laughter—
You lead the way and I fly after
On warm, consoling winds that blow.
We whirl into the light and go.
Before I wake... before I know.
