Afraid of seeing herself,
She hides from the sunlight,
Avoids mirrors, lingers in shadows,
And only walks the streets after midnight.
She has a pretty face,
Any young man would like to kiss her,
Sing to her from the heart
Frank Sinatra-like.
She has a melancholy disposition,
And lives in a secret world of fear.
Youth vanishes in the blink of an eye
And hers’ may disappear
Before anyone ever knows
She was ever here.
