I feel the warmth of summer's sun
As now the day has just begun
The little children having fun
Within the month of May.
While flowers all around me grow
The blossom on the breeze does blow
As butterflies and bees do go
Upon their busy way.
Amidst the trees the birds do sing
Then fly with grace upon the wing
The merry cheer that they do bring
With songs so sweet and gay.
Beneath the hills a silver stream
Meanders like a pleasant dream
I see the water brightly gleam
As diamonds dance and play.
The sky above of deepest blue
Does make the scene a perfect view
If I should wait the whole year through
I'd see no better day.
