** SUNDAYS
As a service man when I was earning
my living, -
Sundays were always very special days
for me!
The luxury of rising late and a own
time shave, -
With a breakfast of choice had my
Sunday made!
I wasn’t a regular church going person
those days,
But always said my prayers before
retiring to bed!
Some times I had a quick hair cut;
A visit to the club for a beer and a
buffet lunch!
A short afternoon nap, and catching
up with old friends, -
Retiring to bed after a day well spent!
Now as a pensioner with a retired life,
Not yet fully tired, I write to survive!
Sundays have now become like any
other day,
Should you ask me why, I don’t know
what to say!
Perhaps visits to the church would make
all the difference, -
Giving Sundays all its haloed significance!
And by earning my salvation by fasting
on Sabbath days!
