I remember hiding in the closet, waiting for the screams to fade away,
Always wishing for her to stop you, some way.
I remember mum, with new bruises on her face,
Always wishing I could take her away from all of it, to a better place.
I know it’s not my fault, what could I do,
I was just a child, and all the blame falls on you.
I remember that I cried my self to sleep each and every night,
Worried what each morning would bring, my mind filled with fright.
I remember hiding in the closet, waiting for the screams to fade away,
Always wishing for her to stop you, some way.
