Juan Olivarez - A Fly Caught In A Spider's Web

2014-11-10 4 Dailymotion

A fly caught in a spider's web,
Looked back o'er his life.
While he waited for the spider's jab,
That would pierce him like a knife.

And thought I should've been a bird,
With a nest up in that tree.
And my singing would be heard,
And I would set hearts free.

Whereupon a cat just sauntered by,
With a bird snug in his maw.
And the fly uttered a sigh,
At the somber sight he saw.

Just then a gust of wind,
Bent a branch and tore the web.
And the fly skyward it did send,
Away from the spider's painful stab.

And the fly said, 'thank-you lord,
That I was born a fly,
I take back every single word,
And lord, that ain't no lie.'
