Today should be remembered—
Not only for it’s feat,
But there’s no other like it;
And thus, it is unique.
It’s not for sounding trumpets.
Or neon flashing signs.
Nor for famed inaugurals,
Or parades of great design.
Today has it’s own style,
And goes at its own pace.
Would it win a banner
Were it in a race?
Perhaps not. But it's not
For great numbers—
But for its place in history,
Today should be remembered.
