2015-01-30 7 Dailymotion

In-depth reports and analysis from our extensive network of correspondents throughout the region on the most important developments in Latin America. Today's program takes a look at the case of Santiago and Andres Restrepo, two Ecuador teenagers who on January 8, 1988 went to see a friend off at the Quito airport. They were never seen or heard from again. It was later reported that they had been kidnapped by the police, tortured, and killed. Their family launched a public campaign, together with family members of others in similar situations, which highlighted the human rights abuses committed under the presidency of León Febres Cordero. Today, 27 years later, Pedro Restrepo, father of Santiago and Andres, now supported by the current Ecuadoran government headed by Rafael Correa, is still searching for answers. teleSUR
