Muhammad Ali was an outstanding heavyweight but he never did figure out Ken Norton's style. The shell defense of Ken Norton took away Ali's straight right hand as a consistent weapon, and his upper body and head movement prevented Ali from landing consistent jabs. Ken's precise jab, powerful left hook and devastating body punches gave Ali all he could handle.
I encourage you to watch each fight in its entirety and decide who you feel won each meeting. Many feel Norton deserved the decision in their third meeting.
