Sharing a super quick breakdown of how directional damage works in PlanetSide 2. But in case you want a more broken down breakdown: Directional damage is based on the position of the person firing the weapon, and NOT where the projectile actually lands. Only Lightning Tanks and Main Battle Tanks observe directional damage, with few exceptions in the case of Valkyrie's bottom armor (and Harasser's bottom armor when Composite is worn, this isn't mentioned in the video.)
