The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has decided to put its entire force to work to make Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's prime ministerial ambition come true.The organisation has also decided to activate its various frontal organisations from September onward to mobilise support for Modi, sources said.
RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat sought support from Jain saints for Modi's PM candidature. Bhagwat met firebrand Jain guru Tarun Sagar of the Digambar sect in Jaipur on Monday and on Tuesday he met Acharya Mahashraman, the supreme head of Jain Shwetambar Terapanth sect, at Ladnu, in Nagaur district of Rajasthan.
After the 45-minute-long meeting with Sagar, Bhagwat preferred not to comment but the former chose to reveal what transpired in the close-door meeting.
Sagar said they had discussed a long range of social and political issues, including the prime ministerial candidature of Modi. BJP veteran L.K. Advani too figured in the discussion during which Bhagwat expressed his opinion on both, he added. He, however, refused to disclose the details of their talks.
