Expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Sunday issued a statement lashing out at his former party, saying it had "lost its vision" and "frittered away its virtues" for some temporary political gains by heeding the "petty whims" of individuals.
The BJP stalwart was, meanwhile, approached on Sunday by Samajwadi boss Mulayam Singh Yadav and senior JD(U) leader and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, with sources in these parties claiming they "not only sympathised with him", but also invited him to join the alternative "secular front". It is learnt Mr Singh told these leaders, who spoke to him over the phone, that he would decide his future course of action only after the elections.
