Prince Andrew, who will turn 62 on February 19, is one of nine members of the Royal Family who have their birthday marked by raising the Union flag on Government buildings. According to guidance by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the last day the national flag was flown on a designated day was on February 6, when Queen Elizabeth, 95, celebrated her accession. However, council officials in Northern Ireland have taken exception to the Union flag being raised to celebrate the Duke of York's birthday.
