Musée d'Histoire de Marseille - The history of a city
Marseille is the oldest city in France, and its rich and long history is on display in this newly renovated museum, one of the best in the city. In 1967, the area behind the stock exchange (chamber of commerce) was redeveloped. During the work, many remarkable discoveries revealed the extent of the old port of Marseille, making this site France's most ambitious urban archaeological excavation to date.
