Petro Gazz's Buitre breaks silence on 'dirty finger' controversy
After seven months of being silent, Petro Gazz’s Marianne Buitre shares to the Manila Times how she has overcome the backlash of getting caught on camera doing a middle finger in a crucial call in a game against Creamline. This stemmed from a heated discussion that ensued following a block touch call against Petro Gazz on an attack by Creamline's Alyssa Valdez during a previous edition of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference. Buitre was forced to take a mental health break after fans let out a barrage of comments on social media although she clarified that she was neither suspended nor sanctioned by the league.
