Bio: Peter Siegfried Krug (born November 23, 1966 in Salzburg) is an Austrian chess composer, yoga teacher, and photographer. His life story is marked by a difficult childhood that had a profound impact on him.
Biographical Highlights
Difficult childhood: Krug spent the first two years of his life in a children's home. He never knew his biological father, and his mother barely cared for him. From the age of six to twelve, he often spent many hours alone in the forest. During this time, he developed extreme shyness around people and barely spoke. Chess became an important means of communication for him.
Chess and yoga as life paths: Chess helped him process his traumatic childhood. Due to severe stress and sleep disorders, he later began practicing yoga, which helped him regain balance. Around 2003, he completed his training as a yoga teacher and taught in Austria and Germany (Sportpark Freilassing from 2003-2020).
Chess compositions: Since 2005, Krug has also devoted himself to chess composition, particularly endgame studies. In 2017, he was awarded the title of FIDE Master in Chess Composition. He is known for correcting other composers' flawed studies.
Photography: Krug is also a successful photographer, known for his landscape and wildlife photography and has achieved master status on the GuruShots platform.
Personal life: Since 2016, he has lived in Hallein with his partner, the artist Lucia Nadia Cipriani, where he feels more connected to nature.
