New Albay gov takes oath, vows unity
Albay Governor-elect Noel E. Rosal takes his oath before Supreme Court Associate Justice Jhosep Y. Lopez at the Albay Astrodome on June 28, 2025, after a Mass officiated by Bishop Joel Baylon of the Diocese of Legazpi. The 'people's governor' called for unity and to set aside political differences for the development of Albay. When asked by The Manila Times in an interview if he would reach out to his political foes, Rosal said he would do so as an elected public servant. Vice Governor Diday Co of Lakas-CMD and younger sister of Ako Bicol Partylist Elizaldy Co, Rep. Adrian Salceda of the 3rd District and local mayors from the camp of Lakas and allies of Ako Bicol partylist and 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda did not attend the event.
