Aerial video shows floods surrounding homes in New Jersey

Aerial video on Tuesday, July 15, showed the scale of flooding in residential areas of New Jersey, encroaching on scores of homes.

Flash flooding in New Jersey left neighborhoods in Somerset County covered by muddy water on Tuesday.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency and said two people died in Plainfield when their vehicle was swept away by floodwaters.

The victims were found in a submerged car, Murphy told reporters.
