Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) may merge and intensify into a tropical cyclone, which could enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) and bring torrential rains over parts of the country in the coming days, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, July 21.
