The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has deployed poll staff and election materials to 36 polling stations across Mfuwe constituency ahead of the parliamentary by-election scheduled for Thursday, August 7, 2025. A total of 20,882 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots.
During the deployment briefing, ECZ Commissioners urged the staff to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, fairness, and transparency. Commissioner McDonald Chipenzi reminded the poll workers they would be observed by party agents, monitors, and the media, and must act as impartial guides for voters.
Security has also been reinforced, with the Muchinga Province Police Command deploying 72 officers to protect the poll staff and secure the election materials. The ECZ expressed confidence that the five-day training has adequately prepared the staff for their duties, demanding they remain confident and not be intimidated by any stakeholders.
