Heatwave and forest fires put wildlife in danger
During the heatwave in early July, the Maisons-Alfort wildlife rescue center in the Paris region broke its record for the number of animals taken in. With fires and further heatwaves forecast, concern is growing among professionals and volunteers. 'We know this is going to be a recurring problem, so we'll need to strengthen our teams, but that means more resources, and the care centers don't have those,' says the director of the Faune Alfort association.
