The Ukrainian company Iron Nuts UA has revealed the first prototype of a protection system for the turret and adjacent components of the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, named Tower 1.
The defence system, known as a cope cage, has already been implemented in several upgraded units and represents a significant step forward in battlefield survivability. According to the company, a second prototype, Tower 2, has also been installed on vehicles but cannot yet be shown publicly. The decision to keep it under wraps is due to constant enemy surveillance, as information on armour and BMP protection systems is of particular strategic interest to them.
Strategic importance
The installation of Tower 1 is part of the ongoing effort to improve armoured vehicles deployed on the front lines. In a context where drones and precision munitions pose increasing threats, modernising defensive systems is vital both for crew protection and for the operational effectiveness of forces in combat.
