Meta Platforms is restructuring its AI division, Superintelligence Labs, for the fourth time in six months, according to The Information. The unit will be split into a products team with the Meta AI assistant, an infrastructure team, the FAIR lab for long-term research, and a new lab that is to be determined. Meta secured $29 billion in financing and plans to invest hundreds of billions more to build large-scale AI data centers. The overhaul comes as CEO Mark Zuckerberg pushes toward artificial general intelligence while facing talent wars, high compensation offers, and criticism from rivals like Elon Musk and AMD CEO Lisa Su.
