A fire destroyed at least 18 semi-wooden shop houses in Pekan Semerah, Batu Pahat, on Aug 20.
The Johor Fire and Rescue Department said they received a distress call at 7.02pm, with 63 firefighters from four stations in the district deployed to the scene.
