This video is a satirical work of fiction, starring an original character named “Jay Scot Garribay” DO NOT STEAL! I do not condone any form of bullying or harassment. Please do not harass J. Scott Garibay.
*The reason Scott hates video games isn't the old "new media are low art while old media are high art" mantra you've heard from every boomer. He hates video games because "they have low return on investment" and "they don't teach useful skills."
This reason to hate video games is equally wrong, but far more sinister.
Scott thinks that the point of all art should be education, and that the point of all education should be job training to increase your productivity as a worker.
Did a work of art cause deep introspection that helped you learn something about yourself? Sorry, enlightenment has no place on a resume! Throw out those worthless distractions like "Lord of the Flies" and "1984," and go read a book that will teach you something useful, like the forklift operator's manual!
Did a video game teach you a useful skill, or inspire you to learn something that helped your career? Tell me below in the comments section!
