Southwind Foods is recalling several brands of frozen raw and cooked shrimp sold across nine states, according to ABC News. The Food and Drug Administration identified potential contamination with a radioactive isotope. The recall affects Sand Bar, Arctic Shores, Best Yet, Great American, and First Street products sold between July 17th and August 8th. The shrimp was distributed in Alabama, Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia. The FDA said the shrimp was processed by Indonesia-based BMS Foods, which also packaged Great Value shrimp recalled at Walmart earlier this week. No illnesses have been reported, and the FDA said no contaminated product has entered the U.S. food supply. Imports from BMS Foods are suspended until it resolves violations of the Federal Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Act.
