UAAP denies PBA request to allow players to join rookie draft
The UAAP denies the PBA's request to allow its players to join the pro league's Season 50 Rookie Draft ahead of the collegiate league's Season 88 which opens on Sept. 19, 2925. The core of PBA's request is for UAAP to allow its student-athletes to apply for the pro league's draft on Sept. 7 and retain their eligibility as amateur, drafted or not. UAAP Executive Director Rebo Saguisag in a media scrum following UAAP Season 88 kickstart presser at UST on Aug. 27 said the collegiate league was saying no to that for now, stressing the need for a careful study before making a decision about it.
