UST hosts UAAP 88, to open on Sept 19
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 88 will kickstart on Sept. 19, 2025 with host University of Santo Tomas (UST) holding the opening ceremony on its Grandstand. UST will also hold the opening basketball games at its Quadricentennial Pavilion on Sept. 19 and 20. Fr. Rodel Cansancio, UST director for Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) and UAAP Board of Managing Directors president, made the announcement at a press conference in UST on Aug. 27, 2025. The opening ceremony on the 19th will be held if only regular rains persist. It will be reset on the 22nd in case of a downpour. VIDEO BY NIEL VICTOR MASOY
