The United States Air Force has reached a decisive milestone in the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) programme, which aims to develop uncrewed fighters to operate alongside fifth and sixth-generation aircraft.
In less than two years after the launch of the initiative, one of the prototypes, designated YFQ-42A and developed in partnership with General Atomics, carried out its maiden flight at a test facility in California.
📍 Tests took place in California, with further evaluations scheduled at Edwards and Nellis AFB.
