Canadian unions mark Labor Day in Toronto with parade
Canadian union workers gathered in Toronto on Monday, September 1, to march in a Labor Day parade and call attention to the plight of unions after recent US tariffs levied on Canada.
Hundreds gathered with their local unions to carry signs supporting unions and union workers.
Last week, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada will remove many retaliatory import tariffs on US goods and intensify talks with the United States on striking a new trade and security relationship. Canada has been holding talks with the United States on a new economic and security relationship for months but the two sides are not close to a deal.
