OpenAI said Tuesday it will acquire product testing startup Statsig in an all-stock deal valued at $1.1 billion, according to Bloomberg. The deal marks one of the ChatGPT maker’s largest acquisitions to date. Statsig, founded in 2021, builds feature testing and flagging tools used by companies including Eventbrite and SoundCloud. OpenAI has stepped up major acquisitions this year, supported by its rising valuation. The company raised $40 billion at a $300 billion valuation in March and is now exploring a $500 billion share sale. In July, OpenAI completed a $6.5 billion acquisition of a Jony Ive–co-founded AI device startup, while a separate $3 billion deal for coding startup Windsurf collapsed. Statsig’s acquisition remains subject to regulatory review.
