The Taipei District Court has granted bail to Taiwan People's Party founder Ko Wen-je. The former Taipei mayor has been embroiled in corruption and embezzlement cases for the past year. The bail, a hefty US$2 million, could see the politician go home after a year of being held incommunicado. However, Ko has not immediately accepted and paid the amount, but will meet with lawyers on Monday to discuss the offer.
