Airbus has unveiled exclusive footage of the installation of the eXtra Performance Wing, a revolutionary wing mounted on a Cessna Citation VII business jet. The project, part of the Airbus UpNext program, aims to test new aerodynamic efficiency technologies, including folding wingtips, smart sensors, and active control systems.

👉 The experimental wing spans 20 meters and will serve as a basis for future narrow-body aircraft, which could reach wingspans of up to 50 meters.
👉 The first flight is scheduled for 2026, with the test campaign continuing until the end of that year.

According to Airbus, the goal is not only to prove aerodynamic efficiency but also to validate technologies such as morphing ailerons and retractable spoilers.
