Enraged health workers under the banner of the Alliance of Health Workers (AHW) gathered in front of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on September 9, and shaved their heads in protest to demand the immediate release of their long delayed Performance Based Bonus (PBB) for the years 2021 to 2023.
They said the head shaving symbolizes their frustration and highlights the continued denial of their rightful benefits, long overdue salary increases, and the persistent neglect of their rights and welfare, even as billions of pesos are funneled into confidential funds and questionable flood control projects.
