In Varanasi, a shocking case has surfaced where advocate Shiv Pratap Singh was allegedly assaulted by Inspector Crime Gopal Kanhaiya at Rathyatra intersection under Bhelupur police station limits.
The dispute began when the inspector stopped Singh’s vehicle, citing no-entry amid traffic chaos caused by heavy rain. The altercation turned violent, leaving the advocate with serious injuries. He was rushed to BHU Trauma Center, where his treatment continues.
The incident occurred while Singh was returning home with his wife, Sharda Singh, after visiting Maa Lakshmi. Following her complaint, a case of attempted murder has been registered against the inspector.
A large group of lawyers gathered at the trauma center demanding strict action. Police officials have confirmed an investigation and assured action against those found guilty. The incident has triggered massive outrage in the legal fraternity.
