Empirical research and accurate data analysis are vital for crafting sustainable, evidence-based national policies and strengthening the fight against corruption, said Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
Speaking at the opening of the 4th National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference on Thursday (Sept 18), Azam stressed that empirical studies help identify gaps and weaknesses in existing policies, systems, and implementation.
He added that the research findings presented at the conference would provide valuable input for policymakers and lawmakers in shaping comprehensive, high-impact strategies for good governance.
