Telecom company Optus will appoint an independent party to lead an investigation into Thursday’s network outage that restricted access to emergency calls. The announcement comes after a possible fourth death was linked to the systems upgrade. Law and corporate governance specialist Helen Bird says she hopes a more robust party leads the review.
