Advocates say inflexible hours and a lack of support for pregnant workers in the construction industry is pushing women out of the sector. Attracting more female workers has been identified as one way to boost the workforce and meet the Federal Government's goal of 1.2 million new homes by 2029. Researchers from the University of Sydney business school spoke with dozens of working women who say they delayed having children or left the industry altogether due to inadequate support while pregnant.
